***We don't share this roster to brag. Or to taunt those of you who be unable to join us for the 15th annual Symposium next weekend. We are proud of what our friends have conjured and we hope you'll enjoy a taste, even if that taste proves to be virtual. ***

15th Southern Foodways Symposium

Next weekend, we’ll host an august complement of speakers. Novelists like Randall Kenan and Monique Truong. Culturalists like Gustavo Arellano and Lolis Elie. Rabble rousers like Eddie Huang and George Singleton.

But let’s not fool ourselves. This is a barbecue symposium. You want to know about the food. And we want to tell you. Following is the roster of eats and drinks, conjured by guest chefs and pitmasters for the 15th annual Southern Foodways Symposium.

Throughout the weekend, the good folks at Mountain Valley Spring Water in Hot Springs, Arkansas, will keep us hydrated, and our friends at Royal Cup Coffee in Birmingham, Alabama, will keep us caffeinated.
