Dear Friends,

We’re astonished.

The 2012 SFA Symposium sold out in 12 minutes.

We are humbled by your interest in our mission to document and study Southern foodways.

As much as we’d like to tell you that we can increase the number of tickets available and expand  programming for 2012, we don’t have the capacity to expand this year's event, nor do we want to expand it and risk losing the intimacy of our gathering.

About 300 tickets are available each year and are sold on a first come-first served basis.

We’ve already begun boosting technological access to the symposium through podcasting, blogging, and video distribution to share the experience with a larger audience.

Be on the lookout for details about where you can download and log in to watch, engage, and be a part of the experience as we approach the Symposium.

We'll also look at long-term solutions to member symposium access.

Thank you again for your continued support of the SFA.

And please know that when you support the SFA, you support all of our work.

The symposium is but one small facet of what we do. Oral histories. Films. Classes at the University of Mississippi. Potlikker Film Festivals. And lots more.

We want you engaged in the wide range of what we do.

Yours in smoke and sauce,

John T, Mary Beth, Amy, Julie, Sara Camp, Melissa, Jill, and Joe
