Ann Karlen, Amy Evans Streeter, and Laura Salveson
Last week, SFA oral historian Amy Evans Streeter traveled to Philadelphia to present as part of a program hosted by The Pew Center for Arts and Heritage. She met with a group of heritage site directors and museum curators from the Philadelphia area who are interested in incorporating foodways into their exhibits and public programs. Amy illustrated the import of local foodways and telling local stories by featuring oral histories from the Southern Boudin Trail and underscored the value of culinary tourism initiatives by highlighting the SFA's new interactive map. Other presenters were Ann Karlen, founding director of Fair Food Philly, and Laura Salveson, director of the Mill City Museum in Minneapolis.
